How to Install Your Diaphragm and Retaining Ring on Your MDF® Stethoscope
To place a diaphragm into your retaining ring warm up the ring to make it more flexible. You can warm up the retaining ring in warm water or in a cup with a blow dryer. Slide the diaphragm into the ring and make sure that the diaphragm is secure without any edges peeking out. To install the retaining ring and diaphragm onto the chest piece place the lip of the ring under the edge of the chest piece. Continue to press the ring along the edges of the chest piece until it snaps into place. You're all set.
