How to disinfect A stethoscope

To provide accurate auscultation, listen under the gown, providing trauma informed care but disinfect between patient use. To disinfect your stethoscope chestpiece, including the diaphragm and retaining ring that make patient contact, use 70% isopropyl prep pads to wipe clean. We recommend using 70% isopropyl to clean the metal parts of the stethoscope, including the chestpiece and headset. How to Install Your Diaphragm and Retaining Ring on Your MDF® Stethoscope

To place a diaphragm into your retaining ring warm up the ring to make it more flexible. You can warm up the retaining ring in warm water or in a cup with a blow dryer. Slide the diaphragm into the ring and make sure that the diaphragm is secure without any edges peeking out.
