How to Remove the Non-Chill Ring from the Chestpiece of a MDF® Instruments Stethoscope
It's a great idea to change out your stethoscope parts every once in a while to keep them fresh and hygienic. If they are older and have not been swapped in a while you may have an easier time cleaning your chest piece with 70% isopropyl alcohol before removing any parts. Your non-chill ring may get dirty or crack over time, this is normal. Unlike the diaphragm, this low frequency side of the dual head stethoscope will still continue to work properly even without the ring, it just may have a colder touch on the patient.
To remove the non-chill ring from your stethoscope chest piece, use pressure and move the non chill ring from the inside of the bell to the outside and over and around work your way pushing the non-chill ring below the bell and lift it up and over to completely remove it. Make sure to register your stethoscope to take advantage of these free parts for your stethoscope offered under our Free-Parts-For-Life Program!
